At Colibrí Family Child Care, we’ve created a warm, home-based environment where children from 6 weeks to 5 years old can learn through play, build confidence, develop meaningful relationships, and enjoy the early years of childhood at their own pace.
How Colibrí Began
Colibrí Family Child Care was born from a simple but meaningful purpose: to provide families with a place where children receive the same warmth, attention, and care they would experience at home while benefiting from enriching learning experiences every day.
Since opening our doors, we’ve been committed to creating an environment where every child feels welcomed, respected, and encouraged to discover their unique potential. Because we believe the strongest foundation for learning begins with feeling safe, loved, and valued.
Meet Elizabeth Ortiz
As both an educator and a mother, Elizabeth understands the importance of finding child care that families can truly trust.
Her passion for Early Childhood Education inspired her to create Colibrí Family Child Care, a place where children are encouraged to explore, develop confidence, and build meaningful relationships in a nurturing home environment.
Her goal has always been to support not only children’s development, but also the families who place their trust in her each day.

At Colibrí Family Child Care, children learn by exploring, creating, playing, and interacting with the world around them.
Daily routines are intentionally designed to support each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while encouraging curiosity, independence, and confidence.
Spanish is naturally integrated into conversations, songs, stories, and everyday activities, allowing children to become familiar with the language in an authentic and meaningful way.
We don’t teach Spanish through formal lessons, we create opportunities for children to experience it naturally as part of their daily environment.
